Everything You Need to Know - April 29 Arabic Calligraphy Workshop

If you're reading this, you're most likely planning to attend our Saturday, April 29 arabic calligraphy workshop in Rockville, Maryland. If you aren't able to attend, no worries, but maybe this blog about one of our instructors will be more interesting for you

For those attending, I compiled all the details you need in this space.

First, the location. Our, April 29 workshop will take place at the Universities at Shady Grove Conference Center in Rockville, Maryland. The exact location is 9630 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville MD, in Bldg III and Room #4219. The building with the blue circle around it on the map below is the best place to park, at the Traville Gateway Garage, which is located directly adjacent to Building III. The quickest way to get to the garage from Darnestown Road is to take Traville Gateway Drive. Please note, there is a $5 parking fee for the garage. They take credit cards.

Once there, please find your way to room #4219. There will be a signup desk up front. We will begin the workshop promptly at 10:00am ET, so please try to arrive a little early.

As for the workshop itself, we've very excited to have two visiting masters teaching the class -- Elinor Aishah Holland from New York and Pablo Khalid Casado from Spain. They will teach arabic thuluth script. And, by the end of our class, all of our students will create their own piece, which they can take home.

Those of you who signed up with materials included will be provided paper, bamboo pen, ink and ink pot on site. So, just bring yourselves, your focus and your creativity. Everyone else should bring their own materials.

Please contact us with any questions at: scriptsnscribes@gmail.com. Thank you so much for reading. And, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
