In this 5-week online course, students will learn how to decorate a calligraphy piece in the traditional method from the start to finish. Students will also learn the traditional process of making and preparing paper for calligraphy and tezhip.

Week 1 (Oct 24): Paper Making and Preparation
Week 2 (Oct 31): Calligraphy Placement and Border Preparation and Design
Week 3-4-5 (Nov 7, 14 & 21): Border Preparation and Design

Instructor Bio
Nagihan Seymour is a Turkish Illumination (Tezhip) artist based in the U.K.
Nagihan has a background in Materials Engineering. She studied with Turkish illumination and calligraphy master Hanifi Dursun. Nagihan has created her own unique style by merging classical geometric designs with traditional illumination.
She exhibits and teaches in the U.K and internationally, and has won accolades for her work.
